Contemporary Calgary & Culture Club in partnership with Loophole presents Aquarian Mirage
A note on the etymology of mirage:
– mirage, first traced back to the French mirage (1753) from se mirer “to be reflected,” and from Latin mirare, “mirror” to the Arabic mi’raj to mean, “ladder, stairs; climb, ascent”.
Aquarian Mirage (2023) is an audiovisual performance that explores activation and resonance of the significant celestial alignment, Pluto in Aquarius. Layering looped field recordings, 140 bpm, and 3D rendered video, the performance explores looping as parallel to orbits and somatic sensations cycling through the body.
Aquarian Mirage (2023) is organized by Contemporary Calgary & Culture Club in partnership with Loophole, and is curated by Huffman-Nykes.
